What is a distributor?

A distributor is a business that supplies goods to other businesses, who in turn sell those goods to customers. In Meevo, you can add a distributor and the distributor's business information such as contact name, address, and email.

Why is distributor information important?

Meevo can use the information to create POs for a specific distributor. Within the PO screen, you can filter by distributor to see all products that are sold from that business.

What is the difference between a distributor and a manufacturer?

A distributor differs from a manufacturer in that a manufacturer actually makes the goods that are being sold. It is important to note that some businesses are both the manufacturer and the distributor. In such cases, be sure to add that business in Meevo as a Distributor as well as a Manufacturer to ensure complete and accurate purchase orders (POs).

Am I required to select a distributor for each product?

No, a distributor is not required in a product's maintenance form. You have the option to associate one or multiple distributors with a product.
