Image Gallery Categories
To get to Image Gallery Categories, type gallerycategory into the Convobar, or go to Meevo > Data > Image Gallery Categories.
What is the Image Gallery?
The Image Gallery is a place to store images related to your business, employees, Service Categories, or clients. In a future release of Meevo, these images will be viewable through Online Booking and other integrations.
What are Image Gallery Categories?
Image Gallery Categories are created in Central Office and group uploaded images into predefined categories. Use categories to quickly filter through images in your image gallery. Meevo provides four basic categories for your images: Business, Employee, Service Categories, and Client. When creating an Image Gallery Category, your selection determines in which screen the category will be available:
- Business: The image is available in Business Information > Image Gallery.
- Employee: The image is available in Employees > Image Gallery.
- Service Categories: The image is available in Service Categories > Image Gallery.
- Client: The image is available in Clients > Image Gallery.
What's special about Client Image Galleries?
The Client Image Gallery is a powerful feature that allows you to visually showcase progress and results, helping highlight the impact of your treatments and services. To that end, the Client Image Gallery provides additional features not yet available in the other image galleries:
- The Client Image Gallery offers the ability to save Before and After images.
- If you are a multi-location business, there is a Central Office Business Preferences option to make the Client Image Galleries viewable across all locations.
- If your business enables MeevoMD (our subscription designed specifically for medspas), you can apply the slider and overlay functions to Before & After photos to showcase client progress, making it easier to highlight the value of treatments during consultations and follow-ups.
Adding an Image Gallery Category
Tip: You can quickly add a new item that will have similar details to an existing item. First locate and select the existing item, and select Copy. Complete the required fields, and select Save when finished.
- From the Image Gallery Categories search form, select Add New.
- Enter a Display Name for the category. This will be the name of the selection when categorizing an image.
- Image Gallery Category For: Select where this category will appear:
- Business: The category is available in Business Settings > Image Gallery.
- Employee: The category is available in Employees > Image Gallery.
- Service Categories: The category is available in Service Categories > Image Gallery.
- Client: The category is available in Clients > Image Gallery.
- When finished, select Save.
Business Types and data in Central Office
If you configured Business Types, select one from the Business Types drop-down. Only locations of the same Business Type will have access to this item once it is made available.
Reminder: Business Types are a way to categorize locations that offer vastly different services. For example, a Med Spa location would be set to a different Business Type than, say, a hair salon. In this way, Business Types ensure that unrelated data does not appear at a location (such as a Men's Haircut service appearing in a MedSpa's services list). For the vast majority of businesses, Business Types are not necessary.
Select Make available to locations to make this item immediately available to locations. In Location Options, you can exclude locations and manage how Meevo handles local overrides.
Note: If you select a Business Type and make an item available to locations, then after saving, you cannot change from one Business Type to another. However, you can at any time change from a single Business Type to All Business Types (as long as All Business Types is an available option for this item).
Editing an Image Gallery Category
Note: Once an item is saved with a Business Type selected and the item is made available to locations, then the Business type cannot be changed to anything other than All Business Types.
- Locate the Image Gallery Category and select it.
- Select Edit, and make changes as needed.
- When finished, select Save.
Inactivating or reactivating an Image Gallery Category
When you inactivate an Image Gallery Category:
- Associated images are no longer associated with that category, but the images themselves are still active.
- It is no longer selectable from any forms or menus in Meevo.
- It can still appear in Meevo reports.
- It does not appear in Meevo search results unless Inactive is selected from the Advanced menu.
- If you inactivated the item in Central Office, the item becomes inactive in associated locations as well.
- Remember that only the owner (as determined by the Owned By field) of the item can inactivate or reactivate it.
To inactivate or reactivate an Image Gallery Category:
- Locate the category and select it.
- Select Edit.
- Select the switch to toggle it to Active or Inactive.

- Select Save.
Deleting or undeleting an Image Gallery Category
When you delete an Image Gallery Category:
- Images are no longer associated with that category, but the images themselves are still active.
- It is no longer selectable from any Meevo forms or menus.
- It does not appear in Meevo search results unless Deleted is selected from the Advanced menu.
- It may still appear in Meevo reports depending on the report setup criteria.
- If you deleted the item in Central Office, the item becomes deleted in associated locations as well.
- Remember that only the owner (as determined by the Owned By field) of the item can delete or undelete it.
To delete or undelete an Image Gallery Category:
- Locate the category and select it.
- Select Delete or Undelete.
- If deleting, a confirmation message appears. Select Yes to complete the deletion.
- If undeleting, the form becomes active after you select Undelete. Select Save to finish undeleting.
