Executing a Contingency Plan for Loss of Card Reader Connectivity
Occasionally, your card reader device may lose connectivity with the processor, despite a stable internet connection. If this happens, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Verify That Only Your Device is Down
If you lose device connectivity, your first step is to verify that the problem is your device and not your business network. To do this, open any website (such as your Meevo business site or speedtest.net) on a wired device.
- If you cannot access any sites, then it is likely that your network is down. See Contingency Planning: Loss of Internet.
- If you can access web sites but hardware connectivity remains down, proceed with the steps below.
Step 2: Troubleshoot the Device
- Power-cycle the device by unplugging from the wall and wait 10 seconds before re-plugging in.
- Allow for the device to power on and boot through its internal menus successfully.
- If a successful connection to the internet is made, the device will return to the default Idle Screen. If not, proceed with the steps below.
Step 3 and Step 4
These details are identical to Step 3 and Step 4 under Contingency Planning: Loss of Internet.
