Executing a Contingency Plan for Loss of Power

An unexpected power outage doesn’t necessarily have to end your workday. Having a plan in place in the event of power loss is an operational necessity and can be the difference between continuing to service clients and ending the day early.

Determine if Business Operations Can Continue

Loss of power does not always mean that the day has to end. The decision as to whether or not you should continue operating your business after power loss is one that only you can make. There are a number of variables that can impact this decision, but always remember that safety comes first!

If your business closes

If you decide to close your business, you should immediately contact clients whose appointments will be impacted.

  1. Use a mobile device to log into Meevo and obtain client phone numbers. You may need to turn off IP Restrictions in order to log into Meevo from outside your network.
  2. You can quickly obtain the phone numbers of impacted clients by running a Meevo Client Selection Export for Clients with an appointment booked For Today.
  3. Use the contact details in the export to get in touch with the affected clients.
    1. You can use our Textel integration or Meevo Messenger solution  to send out important communications to clients right from Meevo.
    2. Alternatively, you can upload the export file to a third-party marketing or messaging tool of your choice to notify clients.

If your business stays open

If the loss of power is not too disruptive, you may decide to continue running business operations. In this case, see Executing a Contingency Plan for Loss of Internet for details on how to run your business  with the network down.
