Deactivating a Credit Card Device
Can I reactivate a device that was deactivated?
Yes! In the Devices tab of the Merchant Account form, the deactivated terminal is still listed. Go here for instructions on reactivating the device.
To deactivate a credit card device
Note: The credit card device's power and network cables must be plugged in during deactivation.
When you deactivate (delete) a credit card device, you are essentially "unpairing" the device from the Merchant Account. Once unpaired, the device can be activated under another Merchant Account, if desired.
- Locate the Merchant Account and select it.
- Select the Devices tab.
- Select Delete beside the device.
Note: Shared CardConnect devices can only be deleted from the primary Merchant Account.
- Select Yes on the confirmation message to complete the deactivation.
