About Inventory Transfers

An inventory transfer involves one location initiating the transfer of products out, and the receiving location accepting the transfer of products in. Inventory transfers can also be initiated from Central Office, where you can choose the To and From locations and, on behalf of those locations, complete a transfer independently.

When are my on-hand counts affected by a transfer?

On-hand counts are immediately affected by a transfer when:

  • The From location's on-hand amount is adjusted after selecting Transfer Out.
  • The To location's on-hand amount is adjusted after selecting Receive.
  • The From location's on-hand amount is adjusted after selecting Recall.
  • The From location's on-hand amount is adjusted after selecting Receive on a returned transfer.

When is Inventory Value calculated after an Inventory Transfer?

Inventory Values are always calculated at the end of each day. However, when you are creating an Inventory Transfer, Meevo displays the Estimated Unit Value, which is based on the product's wholesale price.

The actual Inventory Value is calculated overnight. So, the day after a transfer, the Estimated Unit Value field on a completed transfer changes to Transferred Unit Value and provides the accurate Inventory Value as of the end of the previous day.
