SalonConnect Frequently Asked Questions

Does a client need to log into SalonConnect to use the app?

A client can use all functions in the SalonConnect app without logging in, with the exception of Appointments and My Account (a client must be logged in to book an appointment or manage account settings).

Also note:

  • If a client profile with an email address already exists in Meevo, the client will use that email to log into SalonConnect, even if the client has not yet set up an account through the app. The app will display messages to the client explaining how they can log in using their existing email address.
  • Once logged in, a client will stay logged into that location unless the client backs out to the location selection screen.

What happens if a client forgets their password?

Clients who forget their password should select the Forgot Password link from the login screen and follow the on-screen prompts to reset their password. There are no actions to take in Meevo to help a client recover their password; it must be handled entirely by the client through the app.

How does SalonConnect locate an appointment for the client?

When a client enters their appointment criteria in SalonConnect, the app uses Meevo's Scan for Opening technology to locate appointments.

 

How does the SalonConnect app integrate with Meevo?

The SalonConnect app integrates with Meevo in the following ways:

  • Client profiles: When clients create a SalonConnect account for the first time, they enter their name and email address. Meevo checks the clients at the location to see if that email address is being used in a client profile. If it is not being used (the email address is unique to the business), Meevo creates the client profile according to the information provided in the app. If the email address already exists, Meevo does not take any action on the client's profile information.
  • Appointments: When clients book appointments from SalonConnect, the appointment will immediately appear in the Meevo Appointment Book.
  • 5 Star Reviews: You can publish or unpublish 5 Star Reviews to the SalonConnect app manually through the Ratings Control Panel, or automatically using the Business Information setting Client ratings that should be automatically published. Clients can view reviews via the Reviews icon.
  • Confirmations: If "push notifications" are enabled in the app and on the mobile device, confirmations will appear in the SalonConnect app, where a client can confirm the appointment or request to reschedule it.
