Meevo Scan for Opening Logic
Scan for opening logic is applied to appointment scans in Booking Agent, Online Booking, Wait List, Walk-in Manager, and the Appointment Book (via the Convobar search).
A few more details on Scan for Opening logic:
- Scan for Opening returns openings based on the employee's scheduled availability in the Appointment Book during the date range, not employee clock actions or business hours. So, if your business is closed on Monday but you have an employee on the schedule for that day, Scan for Opening may return results for Monday. Similarly, if an employee clocks out early, the employee may still be booked if there is time remaining on their schedule.
Note: Online Booking returns openings based on the employee's availability in the Appointment Book (as our other booking features do).
- Scan honors your Intelli-Booking settings.
- When using Any employee, Any male, or Any female, Scan for Opening will randomly pick employees based on availability in the Appointment Book and the Scan for Opening options in Business Preferences.
- If you select a specific time range like Morning Before 12 pm, the entire appointment must fit in that range. If a service would extend past the range (12 pm in this example), then Scan will not return openings.
- The Scan for Opening engine does not search beyond 14 days in a row. For example, if you enter "hcm next month with John," the scan will look for openings within the first 14 days of next month.
- For "resource-only" services, Scan for Opening looks to your configured business hours for resource availability.
- Scan for Opening logic honors Service Booking Priority, including service sub-categories.
- Scan for Opening logic honors the Appointment Book Intervals Business Information setting.
- If masking increments are configured in an employee's profile, Scan for Opening displays available slots based on those masking increments.
- Scan for Opening honors employee profile setting Can only perform __ services per day (in Booking Restrictions). If the employee has that number of appointments already booked, then the employee will not appear in scan results for that day.
- Scan for Opening honors the employee profile's setting Can only perform __ minutes/hours per day. If the current amount of booked time for an employee on a particular day + the requested amount of time for services is greater than the value set here, then the employee will not appear in scan results for that day.
- Scan for Opening honors the employee profile's setting Can only perform X min in a row followed by Y min break. Meevo will only return time slots that adhere to this setting.
- Scan for Opening considers "Pending" appointment slots to be filled, and will not return appointment times that overlap with the Pending appointment.
Note: If a client is booked for multiple services that use multiple resources, Meevo prioritizes keeping the client in the same resource for as many of the services as possible.

- Any Male: Gender preference for the service is Male Preferred in Appointment Editor.
- Any Female: Gender preference for the service is Female Preferred in Appointment Editor.
- Any Employee: Gender preference for the service is No Preference in Appointment Editor.
- Specific Employee: Gender preference for the service is No Preference in Appointment Editor.
